In 2019 something happened with humanity. We where all struck from an attack we where not prepared for. Nor able to understand.

This is a personal account—an attempt to make sense of a time that felt both surreal and deeply unsettling. It tells the story of a period when society, as I experienced it, seemed overwhelmed by conflicting narratives, misinformation, and fear. Messages spread rapidly across media and institutions, shaping perceptions and influencing behavior in ways that were difficult to question without consequence.I watched as people around me—friends, family, entire communities—began to change. Certainty replaced curiosity. Dialogue gave way to division. Many appeared to lose touch with their own sense of judgment, empathy, and self-awareness, instead aligning themselves with dominant narratives that were repeated across multiple channels.Relationships were strained, sometimes broken. People who once trusted each other found themselves on opposite sides, unable to reconcile their views. It felt as though reality itself had fractured, with different groups holding entirely different versions of what was true.Even institutions that I had once associated with compassion and moral guidance seemed, to me, to shift. I experienced moments where access to spaces of faith and reflection felt conditional in new and unexpected ways. It raised difficult questions about values, leadership, and the balance between individual conscience and collective responsibility. For those of us who tried to remain open-minded and reflective, there was a persistent sense of unease—a feeling that something deeper was happening beneath the surface. It was as if many had embraced a version of reality that felt, to us, incomplete or distorted. This is not just a story about disagreement or uncertainty. It is about the emotional and psychological weight of living through a time when trust eroded, perspectives diverged, and the search for truth became more complex than ever before.
